Taking a ballpark estimate for LGBTQ+ prevalence, let’s say 2–3 per cent, would mean tens of thousands of people who identify as LGBTQ+ work in the NHS – a number that seems likely to increase in the near future, as younger individuals appear more likely to identify with part of the LGBTQ+ community, or at least to be willing to report that to researchers and pollsters.
