Needless waste of NHS wheelchairs leaving disabled children 'stranded'  Disabled children are needlessly being stranded without wheelchairs because health bosses are failing to recover equipment from patients who no longer need it, users have claimed.
Recent figures revealed that more than 5,000 children with spinal injuries and other profound disabilities are being forced to wait for months due to a lack NHS wheelchairs.
However, the delays are being exacerbated because local providers allegedly lose track of the chairs they have loaned and never pick them up. Telegraph
