    I've just had this reply:

    Thank you for highlighting this, there is no 'guidance' per se, the latest news web page itself contains the information. This is info that was agreed at the JNC J meetings and they asked us to publicise it for employers.

    We did not link the F1 shadowing pages as that is not what the news page is about and we didn't want to confuse employers.

    I will update the wording slightly so it doesn't read guidance.

    Should the JNC J wish us to create some formal guidance for this it will be put on our website in future and in the bulletin, but at the moment there are no plans for this.
