Guidance for winter flu vaccination programme published:
The Chief Medical Officer, Director of Nursing and Chief Pharmaceutical Officer have today written to GPs and other health professionals emphasising the need to increase flu vaccination rates particularly among:

• those under 65 years of age who are at risk of the effects of flu because of other conditions
• pregnant women
• health and social care workers who have direct contact with patients

The Seasonal flu plan – Winter 2012/13, also published today, provides all health professionals involved in next winter’s flu programme with all the information they need to run an effective flu immunisation programme.
