Resilience is much more than hospital beds At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, there was much discussion that England’s public services, after a decade of austerity, lacked the necessary resilience to ride the storm of the pandemic. As the country starts to think of recovery after the first wave of Covid-19, there needs to be a discussion about what a resilient health and care system would look like, so resilience is baked into recovery plans.
