YouTube trend for extreme food challenges encourages binge eating, warn psychologists An internet craze which sees participants devour massive quantities of food on film is “glorifying” binge eating, health experts have warned.

The trend, named "Mukbang", originated in Korea but has become popular around the world with British YouTubers among those taking part.
The name translates to ‘eating broadcast’ and it is understood to have grown in popularity because Koreans living alone wanted to share meal times with family over webcam.

Mukbangs have divided public opinion and psychologists believe those who view the videos are encouraged to behave in the same way. The Telegraph
