Over half of all people who visit their doctor with coughs and colds still expect antibiotics

Over half of all people who visit their doctor with coughs and colds still expect antibiotics: Twenty per cent of adults visited their doctor with a recent respiratory tract infection such as a cough, cold, flu or sore throat and half expected to be prescribed antibiotics for their illness, according to research, commissioned by the Health Protection Agency (HPA)and launched on European Antibiotic Awareness Day today (Friday).
